CHRISTOPHER WARD C60 Trident Pro COSC LIMITED EDITION

Christopher Ward has released a couple of new Trident models for summer 2017. One of those is the new C60 Trident Pro COSC Limited Edition which owes much of its charm to CW’s Pro 600 range, only with an updated monochrome theme plus the introduction of a COSC chronometer-certified movement.

Actually my honest is opinion is that the Trident watches have always been little too safe and perhaps even generic-looking but if you scratch beneath the surface there are some nice little touches here and there.

I particularly like the attention to detail paid to the dial. Besides this the watch has a raft of features (yes, I used the word raft, my apologies).

Offering excellent precision, the COSC Limited Edition features a fully tracked zirconia (ZrO2) ceramic bezel, while the introduction of an inverted red triangle at its 12 o'clock point is a new detail that will appeal to lovers of a well-known Swiss mil-diver.

This COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) version of the Sellita SW200 has been tested in a range of positions and temperatures to gain its valued 'chronometer' certification.

To achieve this, a mechanical watch must achieve an accuracy during these tests of between -4/+6 seconds a day.

Only six per cent of all Swiss movements attain this, while its reputation as an industry workhorse movement means its reliability is guaranteed.

Underscoring the collection's aquatic heritage, CW’s Trident-shaped counter-balance has also been finished in red, contrasting against the wave guilloche pattern of the dial.

A constant feature throughout the collection, the Trident motif has also been deep-stamped into the watch's screw-down caseback. The watch has decent amount of water-resistance with 600 meters.

The new C60 Trident Pro COSC Limited Edition comes with a whole slew of different strap and bracelet options. It is limited to 100 pieces. Its MSRP is £925.
